Google Play Financial Features Policy: Declaration Guide for Apps with Payments or Wallets

Google Play enforce rigorous restrictions on any application offering financial features, digital lending, payments, stock tracking, or wallet services. Failing to declare these properly under the 'App content' section triggers immediate review rejection.
Who Must Complete the Financial Features Declaration?
Any app that processes UPI payments, credit card billing, wallet top-ups, loan applications, banking services, or cryptocurrency assets must complete this declaration in Play Console.
Mandatory Requirements for Financial Apps
- Proof of Regulatory License: In jurisdictions like India (RBI), US (FinCEN/State), or UK (FCA), you must submit registration certificates or authorization letters.
- Clear Loan & APR Disclosures: Personal loan apps must prominently state minimum and maximum repayment terms (minimum 60 days) and full APR calculations.
- No Excessive Permissions: Financial apps are strictly banned from requesting SMS, Contacts, or Location permissions for debt collection or credit underwriting.
- Public Privacy Policy with Deletion Instructions: Must clearly disclose financial data retention periods and deletion request mechanisms.
If your app only accepts payments for digital goods or services, integrate Google Play Billing or approved payment aggregators with clear terms of service.
